HTC Touch Cruise Pro Reviews

Fudzilla‘s review Edit

This small phone impressed us with its functionality, speed and battery life. The price is great as well since you’ll get a Smartphone and navigation in a device the size of the phone. So, without further ado we dub this device a Fudzilla Recommended piece of equipment.

O2 seems to be doing its damnedest to make an XDA for everybody, and only time will tell if this specialisation route will prove to be profitable for the company. As is usually the case with satnav on phones, screen size is the main issue. At 2.8in it's just a bit too small and fiddly to deliver at its best. Nevertheless, it's robust and easy to use, featuring the best that Windows Mobile can offer, with the worst largely concealed by HTC's TouchFLO interface.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The O2 Xda Guide has many things in common with its touch screen Xda brethren – Windows Mobile OS, 3.2 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, but it puts the emphasis firmly on sat nav by including a full version of CoPilot Live 7 plus a car cradle and charger in the price. You would only really consider buying the Xda Guide if sat nav is really important to you as part of your smart phone, but not so important that you really need a dedicated sat nav device.

If you like Windows Mobile, the Touch Cruise may be just fine for you. But with a street tag hovering between $400 and $500, you might find another HTC device on contract that you'd prefer. If location-based features and services are important to you, than the Cruise should be near the top of your list. If you honestly won't end up using them, cross this one off.

The XDA Guide is a good smartphone but we're not convinced it's also a great navigation device when used in the car. The small screen and quiet speaker work against it and make us think that O2 should have gone with another, larger touchscreen device from the HTC range for this navigation bundle.
