Surprisingly good camera

Created by tocker on Jun 01, 2010

Ownership period: more than 1 year.
I've had this camera for a long time.
I bought it because it was one of the few compact cameras that provide full manual control. And the price was good too.
I took great shots with it. Landscape, events, kids, architecture. It does all.
The macro photos I took, of plants and insects, came out in very high quality.

There are many preset modes to choose from, including color enhancement (taking a lash green photo of the forest, or a photo of a pink dress on a black and white background).

There is a stitch mode that helps you take panoramic shots with multiple photos (I personally use hugin).

Video is OK, although not HD.

After using this camera for a couple of years, I was surprised to learn that I can even control the flash power in manual mode!

The case is apparently tough. My camera suffered some abuse and there is visible damage to the case, but it _never_ affected the operation of the camera.

Although the lens are changeable, I haven't tried it myself.

If you like to photograph the moment, and need a high quality compact, this camera (or what ever current model replaced it) is a good choice!
