Sony Ericsson Zylo Pro Reviews

reghardware‘s review Edit

Support for Flac will have people dancing in the aisles, the absence of a 3.5mm audio jack will have them running for the fire exit. It's a horrible contradiction that cannot be forgiven and until it's rectified, it's hard to recommend the Zylo to the very people it's aimed at: those who take their music seriously, and kids who will probably lose the bundled earphones within a week.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The Zylo is not a handset that is breaking any new ground as its design and user interface aren't really any different to what we’ve seen previously on Sony Ericsson Walkman phones. However, if you’re looking for a traditional handset that’s easy to use, relatively inexpensive and has most of the basics covered, it’s not a bad option. That said, the lack of a standard headphone jack or even an adaptors cable to allow you to use your own headphone still jars with us, especially as the phone comes with Walkman branding.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

There is little to surprise with the Sony Ericsson Zylo. There is also little to set this handset aside from similar models from previous years, from the design to the operating system. The biggest let down is the music performance seeing as this is a Walkman branded device. The poor headset, and the lack of support for a standard 3.5mm jack, means you'll have to buy additional headphones from Sony Ericsson, or an adapter dongle, to get the most out of it.

GSMArena‘s review Edit

Well, let’s face it, the Sony Ericsson Zylo can’t do all that much. But if this phone is to sell – which we think it will – it won’t be for the tech inside. The Zylo looks nice, feels great in the hand and has decent equipment for a mobile phone that costs about a hundred euro.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

When we first started exploring the Sony Ericsson Zylo, and realised the massive shortcomings of its FLAC support, we were expecting the theme of this review to be 'scathing'. Ultimately, that's not the case. Disappointing though the lossless music situation may be, it still plays music – a whole bunch of audio file types, actually. It works, even if it wasn't thought through properly.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

The Zylo is a well-made music handset in a traditional slider form factor we've come to expect from Sony Ericsson. It is pretty average in terms of features, but carries all its phone and messaging duties with dignity, and has some audio perks to justify the Walkman brand. The phone provides a good loudspeaker and headset, and even plays songs encoded in the lossless quality FLAC format, so we can easily label the time spent with it as a true Walkman experience.
