TomTom GO 740 LIVE Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

There isn't enough space here to talk about all the Go 740 Live's features, but there's no doubt that the Live system works well and is money well spent if you do a lot of driving.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The TomTom Go 740 Live lists for £279 inc VAT, and the connected services are £10 per month, though you get three months free when you buy the device. If the traffic services were better, they might be worth that price. As they stand, though, we'd opt for the less-expensive TomTom Go 930 and put the savings in the bank.

TomTom's full-featured GO 740 LIVE sets the new standard for connected GPS devices, but its voice recognition features still need improvement.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The Go 740 is a fantastic device packed with great features. It's just a shame that the LIVE services cost extra after just three months, rendering the best features useless unless you can afford a subscription.

The TomTom GO 740 Live puts a tremendous amount of information at your fingertips and makes it easy to access and process it all from the driver's seat.

GPSmagazine‘s review Edit

Physically, the GO 740 looks quite similar to previous TomTom GPS units - and that's a good thing. TomTom's hardware is consistently among the most elegant and refined looking GPS devices on the market, and the 740 is no exception. Standing in stark contrast to the large, bulky (and now discontinued) Dash Express Internet-connected GPS, the GO 740's internal GPRS cellular modem adds virtually no visible size or weight. Measuring just under an inch thick, the GO 740's 4.3-inch WQVGA color touchscreen display is framed by an attractive looking curved black frame that rests nicely in the palm of your hand.

PC World‘s review Edit

The addition of connected services should make TomTom's excellent devices even better, but some deliver uneven results.
