Microsoft SideWinder X8 Pro Reviews

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

Microsoft's SideWinder X8 combines the best aspects of both wired and wireless mice, adds its funky, high-sensitivity BlueTrack technology and wraps it up in a slick, ergonomic package. Put simply, the X8 is the gaming mouse we've been waiting for Microsoft to make.

This highly programmable gaming mouse gets it almost all right—which it needs to, considering the high price.

So the final tally wouldn’t be bad if the mouse didn’t skip. Bad scroll wheel? Okay, whatever, nobody’s going to beat Logitech’s ever anyway. DPI not super helpful? Well, I can tweak it so it works out. But the jumping cursor? Hell no, I can’t live with that, and you shouldn’t either. The mouse I got, while nice in theory, is simply too annoying to actually use.

PC Pro‘s review Edit

Some useful features and very comfortable in use, but the stiff scroll wheel and high price limit its appeal

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

Microsoft's SideWinder X8 isn't the only mouse that can swap seamlessly between wired and wireless modes; however, between its BlueTrack sensor and its on-the-fly macro recording capability--not to mention a competitive price--we imagine few PC gamers won't want to get their hands on it.
