Nokia N8 now shipping with Symbian Belle?
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesNOKIAN8
Retro-ironic Nokia fans in the market for a new phone will be interested to hear that the Nokia N8 is now shipping with Symbian Belle pre-installed - in some countries, at least.
That's according to a tweet in response to a customer in India, in which the official Nokia account said, "We are already shipping new versions [of the N8] with Nokia Belle installed. Check with your local store for more information."
We're waiting for Nokia to get back to us on the availability of Belle'd up N8s in the UK.

Nokia N8 camera update arrives with continuous auto focus, 30 fps video
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesNOKIAN8
The wait is over. Our friends at Nokia Beta Labs have just released an update to the N8’s native camera application. The update, available free at the Beta Labs website, adds support for continuous auto focus and 30fps video recording. First a Symbian Anna update and now a camera update? Not a bad month for the Symbian flagship if you ask us.
It’s no secret the Nokia N8 has an incredible camera. Up until today its video capabilities trailed behind the still photography. Taking the video recording speed from 15fps to 30fps opens the door to capturing fast-action video clips. Combined with continuous auto focus, the N8 not only replaces your point and shoot camera, it also replaces an entry-l...

Nokia N8 is used to shoot at the world's biggest stop-motion animation set
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesNOKIAN8
The Nokia N8 is still the reigning king in smartphone cameras with its 12-megapixel Carl Zeiss lens. But is it fit enough to shoot at the world's largest stop-motion animation set spreading on over 11,000 square feet? The answer is yes, but it took not one, but three Nokia N8s to produce this breath-taking minute and a half production called Gulp. The marine-themed stop-motion film Gulp narrates the story of a fisherman going out in the sea only to meet adventure and get eaten by a huge fish, but we won't spoil the whole thing.
Interestingly, when shooting the film the three Nokia N8s were used only for capturing stills, not video. The numerous images were then stitched together giving the ...

Nokia drops prices on smartphones to rejuvenate sales, Nokia N8 price slashed by 15%
Like UnlikeFiled in: Cell PhonesNOKIAN8
Nokia has slashed the prices of smartphones in Europe in an attempt to rejuvenate weak sales of its high-end devices, according to industry insiders quoted by Reuters. One of the insiders noted that Nokia's current flagship, the Nokia N8, will see its price drop by 15%. The same price cut will also come to the multimedia-centric C7 and the business-oriented E6.
The prices of other Nokia devices will also be decreased, but the biggest drop will be for those high-end handsets.
"There are no very big cuts per model, but the scale -- across the portfolio -- is unseen for a very, very long time," an employee of a European telecoms operator added. But Nokia denied the price cut to be something ou...
