Canon PowerShot A2100 IS Pro Reviews

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Canon PowerShot A2100 IS has a decent sized LCD screen for getting the perfect shot. While the camera doesn't include an optical viewfinder, the 3.0-inch LCD has twice the resolution and offers much clearer viewing. The A2100 IS has a much more generous 6x optical zoom (36-216mm) compared with the A1100 IS's 35-140mm, offering greater telephoto range, as well as extra macro magnification. Overall, it's a much more useful camera than some of the cheaper models from Canon.

Camera Labs‘s review Edit

Canon's PowerShot A2100 IS is a good value compact with a longer than average zoom range, excellent image quality and very effective image stabilisation. Although it lacks the wide angle coverage of the Sony Cyber-shot DCS-W270 / W290 and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS25, it has a broader overall zoom range and a longer telephoto equivalent of 216mm.

LetsGoDigital‘s review Edit

The Canon PowerShot A2100IS is the successor to the A2000IS and seems to be a camera update that is no more than a Megapixel increase. If you look at the specification list, this may seem exactly the case, yet there are in fact more differences. The concept of the A-series of cameras has not changed; an automated compact camera featuring many handy automatic functions, compact size and a high quality finish. In short; an entry level camera, although one that you want to be seen with.

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

The Canon Powershot A2100 IS builds on the key strengths of the previous A2000 model by adding even more beginner-friendly features. The A2100 is a fairly compact camera that produces excellent images in good light, covers a large focal range thanks to the 6x zoom lens, and has a massive 3 inch LCD screen on the back that can be easily viewed from a wide angle. The wealth of different scene modes on offer are now accompanied by the ultimate point-and-shoot Smart Auto and Easy modes, which really do take the guesswork out of using the A2100 and make it suitable for all the family.
