ASUS G51J 3D Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

ASUS has certainly pulled off an impressive technological feat to bring NVIDIA's 3D wizardry to the notebook generation, but it'll need to improve screen resolution and the range of 3D movies and games before the novelty value seems worth the price.

reghardware‘s review Edit

As far as 3D goes, the Asus G51J 3D is certainly a more capable machine than Acer’s 5738DZG. Not only is it more powerful, but with the active glasses it can also deliver a better 3D experience. The high price tag is the obvious stumbling block. Prices will no doubt fall if and when 3D finally takes off, but at the moment anyone looking to wave goodbye to 2D will have to pay a rather hefty premium.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

If you're a "3D" fanatic, the ASUS G51J-1B 3D has the best technology in place, but it's limited to games and costly compared to Acer's 3D laptop.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The Nvidia 3D Vision is still in its infancy, but the effect is still quite good. The price tag also seems a little high. If you are keen to try 3D and aren't necessarily bothered about gaming, the Acer Aspire 5738DZG-434G50Mn might be a better, and cheaper, option.

softpedia‘s review Edit

Since it's been touted by its manufacturers as the first of its kind, namely the first notebook out there to support NVIDIA's 3D Vision technology, we sort of expected a lot from Asus' G51J 3D notebook. However, the device was able to perform even better, managing to deliver a complete, deep and comprehensive portable experience, whether we're talking about gaming, multimedia or whatever else you might think of.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The Asus G51J-3D is the first laptop to incorporate Nvidia's 3D vision technology. If you absolutely love the idea of 3D gaming, this proof-of-concept system will work well for a pricey showpiece.

www.pcper.com‘s review Edit

Asus G51J 3D is a fine product with a lot of other good features like support for two hard drives, a backlit keyboard, a cooler thermal profile over the G51J "standard", and an overall good design. However, the underpowered feeling when playing current games with 3D Vision enabled should make you think a little harder before shelling out money.

The first laptop to incorporate Nvidia’s 3D Vision technology, Asus’ G51J 3D, is a stereoscopic gaming powerhouse.

The 3D effect is better than ever, but building it into a 15.6in laptop creates more than a few issues
