ASUS F70SL Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

Asus's F70SL is a monster laptop. If you're not bothered by its huge dimensions, the F70SL is a fair choice for those wanting a laptop with a big display.

ITreviews‘s review Edit

The F70SL is a good-looking, reasonably well-equipped, desktop-replacement laptop with a big screen. It isn't ‘Full HD' as Asus claims, but it's still good for most 2D uses. There is another version of the F70SL, the TY129C, which is currently around £850 and includes a 2.4GHz P8600 processor. The TY076C machine reviewed here appears better value.

reghardware‘s review Edit

Our review model, the F70SL-TY076C has the slower T5850 CPU and, at around £740, is a better deal. Sure, it's no gaming laptop and the T5850 processor isn't exactly the fastest CPU off the block, but if you're looking for a well-built desktop replacement with a large screen, the F70SL packs in a fair amount for the price.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

While it certainly isn't the portable powerhouse we would have liked, due to the lack of a top-end GPU and a disappointingly average screen resolution, the F70SL has its merits in build quality and comfort and is certainly worth a look for those after an affordable multimedia desktop replacement.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

It’s a shame we can’t wholeheartedly recommend the F70 due to its keyboard layout and design, as it was rather uncomfortable to use. It wasn’t a minor niggle on our behalf or as a comparison to the usual laptops we use. We do test 100s of notebooks, netbooks and their ilk - this was the first we’ve ever taken an issue with on that very subject.

Notebookcheck‘s review Edit

The Asus F70SL was, by and large, able to leave a good impression. The elegant case scored with stability and sturdiness. Whilst typing on the comfortable keyboard was a pleasure, the touchpad couldn't really convince us.
