expertreviews‘s review Edit

A little lighter than most big-zoom compacts, but also a little slower and takes less attractive photos

The Olympus mju 9010 is a good looking and well made camera, with a well designed easy-to-use interface, with a price and feature set that put it in the middle of the long-zoom pack. The massive internal memory, built-in manual and downloadable software are useful innovations, but the sluggish performance, lack of AF assist lamp and image quality issues will limit its appeal.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The classy looking Olympus Mju 9010 scores high in terms of features but it shoots just average quality images and videos. If you want long zoom and HD video in this price range, you can consider the Samsung WB550 which has a wider angle lens and more impressive image quality.

LetsGoDigital‘s review Edit

The Olympus Mju 9010 certainly lives up to its specifications. The camera has a nice zoom range and is equipped with all kinds of handy automatic functions. After testing the camera thoroughly, in practice and in the technical DIWA test lab, we have concluded that the camera is successful in the practical sense, and that it only has a few glitches in the technical aspect. We attribute this to the high resolution on a small sensor, which has several negative effects. Let it be a wise lesson for the next generation Mju mega zoom: decrease the resolution, increase the pixel quality and you have a nice and fast Mju camera. We are looking forward to it!

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

The Olympus mju 9010 has left us with a more favourable impression than its little sister the Olympus mju 7040, chiefly because of its better lens and more robust build. Although a longer zoom typically means more compromises in the optical department, the mju 9010's 28-280mm lens actually exhibits better off-centre sharpness than the 7x zoom of the mju 7040 at all common focal lengths, and suffers from noticeably less vignetting.
