Microsoft SideWinder X6 Pro Reviews

ExtremeTech‘s review Edit

The SideWinder X6 is a very good gaming keyboard overall, and the ability to move the number pad to the left and set it up as a bunch of macro keys is perfect for macro-holics. The big knobs for backlighting control and volume are great. The keys have a nice "springy" feel with good bounce back, and nice big Shift, Backspace, and Enter buttons make basic typing easy.

The beauty of this keyboard is in the modular design where you can swap the numeric keypad from one side to the other. In doing this you activate the extra Sn keys on the keypad.

Microsoft's SideWinder X6 is a fantastic return to form for the company. It feels great to type on, has as much macro-ing functionality as anyone will ever need and the ability to swap the numpad from left to right is a real masterstroke. If you're in the market for a gaming keyboard right now, this is the one to get.

Thanks to its movable number pad, the Microsoft SideWinder X6 keyboard may be a dream come true for gamers who use lots of macros. Gamers not into macros should still appreciate the X6's gaming prowess.

With its 30 programmable buttons, the Sidewinder X6 is solid choice for PC gamers who demand total customization. Its removable keypad is also sure to draw in the gamer who wants control over ergonomic preferences.

CrunchGear‘s review Edit

I was pumped to check out their new keyboard, and while it’s not exactly suited to my style of play, I can see it being very useful for a lot of gamers out there. It looks more solid than it is, essentially — it doesn’t have the vigor of a SteelSeries or the finish of a Razer, it feels less like performance hardware than either, but you can’t argue with the functionality.
