Even without its 3D capabilities, the BD-C6900 would be one of the best Blu-ray players on the market. It boasts a phenomenal range of features, the most impressive of which are comprehensive multimedia support and wireless networking, while its 2D picture quality, fast disc loading and slick operating system are also to be applauded. The only issue is the ghosting on 3D playback, but this is sure to be ironed out over time and the extra depth and visual dynamism still inspire enough wonder to make it worth the investment.

Video quality is excellent, but the player is a little pedantic: I would argue for easier AV networking and more comprehensive file support. And while having analogue audio outputs is appreciated, twin HDMIs would be a more practical solution (provided sync between the two is kept) to maintain compatibility with HDmI v1.3 (and lower) AV receivers. Still, it remains an attractive first round 3D player. It remains to be seen how others compare.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The Samsung BD-C6900 Blu-ray disc player is full of useful features. We'd be inclined to use the video-on-demand features and internet access more than 3D Blu-ray playback at the moment, but 3D playback will make it attractive to anyone who is thinking about buying a 3D TV.
