Acer Aspire 5738Z 3D Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

Acer's done well in creating an affordable 3D laptop, but don't expect wonders from it. In general we found it performed best when converting games into 3D, but factors such as ghosting from the polarised display and a relatively low-powered graphics card limit the Aspire 5738DZG's appeal.

Notebookcheck‘s review Edit

Acer's approach to the 3D notebook made a good impression on us. It was able to render DVDs and photographs with an attractive new perception of depth. The better the quality of the starting material, the easier it was for the TriDef software to create a stereoscopic image from it.

tweaktown‘s review Edit

In the end, the Acer Aspire 5738DG-6165 is more suited to being a desktop replacement that occasionally makes a trip between the home and office than a full on take me everywhere notebook. You can use the notebook to carry around with you each day going to and from work or classes at school, but the notebook is heavy for those that travel a lot. This machine makes a fantastic multimedia notebook at a very good price with 3D features that are still very rare. Over all the Acer Aspire 5738DG-6165 is a very nice notebook for the media fan looking for something a little different in the under $800 price range.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

Acer's Aspire 5738DG-6165 is a very good budget desktop replacement to begin with; the fact that it offers 3D rendering is just icing on the cake.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

It's impossible not to be impressed by the Aspire 5738DZG-434G50Mn and its 3D display. We were genuinely surprised at just how well the technology works, making movies especially fascinating. However, by also making us feel slightly queasy, it remains to be seen whether changes to the technology can make it more comfortable to view.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The Acer 5738DZG is a relatively quick laptop with reasonable game-playing potential. But more than that, it provides a good workable one-stop solution to enjoy 3D video from games, photos and video.

Register Hardware‘s review Edit

Although the 3D demo material looks good, we experienced mixed results when converting content that wasn’t designed with 3D in mind. Photos and videos remained flat, but we were fairly impressed with the games we tested it on.

PC Pro‘s review Edit

The 3D screen is inconsistent and gimmicky, and pushes up the price of an otherwise solid, yet unspectacular, laptop
