www.whathifi.com‘s review Edit

The ’S760 used to be the player to beat, but the quality of competition has gone through the roof

The visual improvements provided by the BDP-S760’s ‘reality enhancer’ and other image processing technologies can sometimes seem rather subtle, and casual viewers who are just looking to upgrade their existing DVD player will probably be happy with prefer to stick with less expensive alternatives such as the S560 model.

AVForums‘s review Edit

Users who already have a Blu-ray player shouldn't rush out en masse to ditch their old machines in favour of a BDP-S760. Please remember that Blu-ray Disc is the best quality delivery format we have ever had in the home, and users should enjoy their player rather than convincing themselves that they can have a better one (because they often can't). However, if you're perhaps relegating an old player to a second room, or are looking for a BD player for the first time, then it comes highly recommended.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

We love the quality of the picture you get from Blu-ray and the full audio support: buy the S760 because you want a great picture and sound, not for any of its peripheral offerings. If it is just Blu-ray playback that interests you, then the BDP-S760 offers great visuals. With the new wave stacked against it, you may well be able to pick up a bargain, but opting for the latest generation will give you much more functionality.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

I don't think there's any player currently available at this price point that compares for Blu-ray playback. I'm still a massive fan of LG's BD390 for its media-streaming abilities, but maybe I'll have to find a place in my rack for the BDP-S760 as well. It is a reference machine for the budget conscious.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The BDP-S760 is by far the most impressive Sony Blu-ray player we’ve encountered. Its picture and sound performance is up there with the best of them, the operating system is a dream to use and the feature list is a vast improvement on previous Sony players, with built-in Wi-Fi being the obvious highlight.
