Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 Pro Reviews

netbooked.net‘s review Edit

The Dell Mini 1012 is a solid performer outlasting most other netbooks in the battery life department and has one feature that most other netbooks lack - it’s fanless. It’s also on the most feature rich netbooks available (TV tuner, 3G, WiMAX, HD display, Broadcom card) but those come at a cost.

Although the Mini 1012's HD playback wasn't what it was cracked up to be, the high-resolution screen and decent battery life still make it a fantastic choice, provided you can live with the annoying touchpad.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The Dell Mini 10s (HD) piles on features better than any other netbook at this price, but a poor navigating experience and second-tier battery life hold it back from stardom.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

While the excellent keyboard and screen of the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 provide strong selling points, the limited mobility and poor components restrict usability. It's not that the Dell is a bad netbook – far from it – it's just that many better netbooks can be bought at this price.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

Dell’s intentions are in the right place with the Inspiron Mini 10, but a netbook with a tiny screen and limited storage isn’t the ideal platform for a TV tuner. This model didn’t win us over for its design, either. If you’re in the market for a 10.1in netbook, you can do better.

Dell’s revamped netbook features a slicker design and excellent battery life, but its touchpad isn’t for everyone.

Liliputing‘s review Edit

The new Dell Mini 10 is a bit thicker and heavier than many contemporary laptops. It measures about 10.5″ x 9.2″ x 1.4″ and weighs just over 3 pounds with a 6 cell battery. But I appreciate the way Dell has designed the laptop so that it looks no different with a 6 cell battery than with a lower capacity 3 cell battery. The shiny, but fingerprint-free lid is also a nice touch.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

Dell Inspiron Mini 10 is a fantastic package. The keyboard helps to make it one of the most comfortable and practical netbooks available and, unlike rival products from HP, it doesn't cost the earth. Performance may not be earth shattering, but it was never likely to be, and isn’t a great deal worse than other netbooks. Overall, the excellent usability on offer and the impressive machine makes this an appealing choice.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

This retail version of Dell's Mini 10 Netbook, called the iM1012-687OBK, has a great battery, but chances are it's sitting on a shelf right next to a less expensive Netbook with a bigger hard drive.

Spec the Mini 10 up to the hilt and you will have a very versatile and capable - if not exactly cheap – netbook, just not one that will play full HD video.

A swish new design, great battery life and it plays HD video, but the touchpad is truly appalling

Notebookcheck‘s review Edit

The Mini 1012 from Dell is supposed to be a netbook for little HD movies. But not only movie fans will take delight in the HD Ready resolution of 1366x768 pixels. The Broadcom Crystal HD chip manages decoding of 720p or 1080p videos quite automatically. Will Dell's 10 incher have a good battery life despite HD features?
