Pentax OPTIO H90 Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

The design looks elegant but is functionally unremarkable, but the H90 costs less than we’d expect. In most respects this is a competent but unexceptional camera, but the smart design and Eye-Fi support may be enough to draw in customers.

ITreviews‘s review Edit

If you're looking for a reasonably priced, simple but effective compact camera then the H90 could be for you. Very easy to control, we appreciated its simple button layouts and menu systems. Stills photography is reliable and the automatic scene modes are quick and easy to access. However, we weren't too impressed with the camera's movie capture. The great Image Recovery option softened that blow, though.

ephotozine‘s review Edit

I mentioned before that the camera seems very well specified for the price, and it seems it performs up to the job as well. It would've been good to see better performance at higher than ISO800, but for its price point that performance is typical. This camera is capable of yielding detailed, colour-rich images under the right conditions and seems like very good value at £109.

The Pentax Optio H90 is a well made and attractively designed camera at a very affordable price. It is easy to use and light enough for a shirt pocket, with good performance and a useful zoom range. However its lack of an AF assist lamp and poor overall image quality are disappointing.

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

Pentax's Optio H90 camera may indeed be 'no frills' at first glance. But in a world where we're overwhelmed with visual information, its boxy retro looks - resembling what would transpire on paper if you asked a child below the age of ten to draw a picture of a camera - are oddly comforting.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

In the Optio H90, neat design meets functionality and usability at a great price. In short, the package as a whole works really well (and you could pay a lot more for these features from another maker) and is great value too, and although there are a few minor niggles, the H90 is well worth considering if you're after an easy to use, stylish and neatly designed compact. It really is more than the sum of its parts - and the sum of money you'd need to outlay in order to buy one.
