Cowon iAUDIO 9 Pro Reviews

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The Cowon i9 is a diminutive player, about 8mm thick and a little longer but narrower than a credit card, is a budget model. It does a fair range of things, including showing videos and still pictures on the colour display, storing documents, FM radio and even voice recording.

The iAudio 9, better known as the i9, features a capacitive touchscreen, meaning it doesn’t require prodding to move the screen. Instead it responds to human touch, allowing you to slide and stroke your way around.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The Cowon iAudio 9 is slim, lightweight, and power-packed and offers respectable sound. Make sure you are comfortable with the touchpad first though.

A clunky touch interface and some unintuitive menus leave this far behind the iPod nano

The Cowon iAudio 9 is not a media player for everyone. While its user interface is intuitive for the most part, the sheer number of options means you'll be navigating a lot and at some point you may will end up lost in a sea of sub menus. Comprehensive audio format support makes up for this to a degree, but the lacklustre output when left un-tweaked might irk the casual listener. Once configured though, it's a lovely sounding, capable player.
