COOLREADERS COOL-ER Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

With something as comparatively simple as an eBook Reader, the user experience is vital. The Cool-er has a lot going for it. It's slim, easy to use and very readable. Shouldn't you be able to suspend reading though - to a very low power state - and resume instantly, exactly where you left off? There are already cheaper and arguably better-designed readers available, such as Sony's.

bit-tech‘s review Edit

The Coolreaders Cool-er is arguably the easiest of the three readers to use, but its toy-like build quality and high price rule it out as a sensible option. Both the Pocket and the Cool-er primarily use the ePub format, so your eLibrary will probably be transferable to future eBook readers.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The COOL-ER Reader is a good, if not perfect, electronic reader. It can store a large quaintly of books and read a wide variety of formats. And Interead has wisely hooked up with Adobe Digital Editions to bring an official bookstore capacity to the device. We have concerns over the build quality though, and Interead would do well to source some better quality components and thicker plastic. We’d also like it to eject properly from the Mac desktop and we just feel these devices are too expensive in the mass market (although that applies to all electronic book readers). But it’s a competent product for reading books.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The Cool-er ebook is a funkier, lighter and cheaper option to the Sony Reader or the Amazon Kindle, though it lacks a touchscreen and internet-connectivity.

PC Pro‘s review Edit

Cheaper and considerably more cheerful than many of its rivals, the Cool-er eBook reader is still something of an acquired taste

Register Hardware‘s review Edit

The basics are there, but there are a lot of rough edges to it, compared to the others like the Sony Reader.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The Cool-er e-book reader has some nice pluses and costs $110 less than the Kindle, but it's not as big a bargain as we hoped it would be.
