Pentax Optio W90 Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

If you're willing to pay that bit extra (although we've seen online prices as low as £194) for waterproofing and shockproofing as well as improved macro and face recognition technology, then the Optio W90 is an ideal outdoor activity camera.

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

Pentax's Optio W90 certainly looks the part and, as ever with devices of its indestructible ilk, it would be no surprise if image quality often comes second to beefy dimensions and additional padding.

The Imaging Resource‘s review Edit

The Optio W90 is Pentax's latest offering into the niche of waterproof cameras designed to take a beating and keep on shooting. The market for waterproof, durable digicams is a lot more crowded and competitive these days, but Pentax (and Olympus) can at least lay claim to the fact that they were manufacturing rugged digicams before they were cool. Indeed, the Optio W90 is, according to Pentax, the 11th generation model in the company's waterproof camera line.

reghardware‘s review Edit

The Pentax Optio W90 is a good choice for anyone who wants a reasonably good camera that will survive most calamities. The W90 is an interesting blend. It might not take the best images, but many will consider this a compromise they're willing to make considering the build quality and the possibility of underwater photography.

Steve's Digicams‘s review Edit

Pentax has created an appealing "lifeproof" camera with their new Optio W90. The W90 offers some nice improvements over past W-series cameras, class average image quality, good shooting performance, and loads of useful scene modes. Not to mention this is one tough camera. I truly enjoyed using this little guy, and out of all of the lifeproof models I've tested, it "looks" the coolest in my opinion.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

It's only worth paying a £100+ premium for the W90's rough and tumble resistant padding if you're the sort of person who indulges in said rough or indeed tumble. However, even for the less adventurous the W90 is one of the more coolly styled examples of the toughened digicam, and a sight more presentable than Canon's reliable yet ugly PowerShot D10.
