Garmin-Asus nuvifone A50 Pro Reviews

phonedog‘s review Edit

It's evident that the vast majority of research and developmentwas placed into navigation. I don't doubt Garmin-Asus' navigation capabilities - they're fantastic - but the included tools on stock Android devices are good enough to go head to head with the Garminfone.

Phone Scoop‘s review Edit

Most Android phones so far have specialized in social networking, but the Garminfone takes a different tack to become the best navigation phone I've ever used. Even with the slight problems I had with the GPS signal (I do NOT live in Kentucky), once the phone found my spot, it had no trouble navigating through trips and helping me find nearby points of interest.

Engadget‘s review Edit

For $199, the Garminfone is an interesting choice. With multitouch on-tap and fantastic navigation built-in, you're not missing an awful lot - and it really is fantastic navigation. It's nearly as good as Google Navigation in terms of interface and usability, but trumps that competition by working fully offline and easily matches the best mobile navigation options on other platforms.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

Hardcore Garmin GPS owners will truly find pleasure in the versatile offerings included with the Garmin-Asus Garminfone, as it's able to replicate the experience to a teeth. For them, they will undoubtedly benefit the most as the rich GPS experience is supplemented with smartphone functions that will keep the busy traveler always in-sync with their daily lives. However, when viewing it from the complete and opposite side, traditional smartphone users will find the Garminfone somewhat lackluster in key areas that essentially make this Android powered smartphone in a level below some of its contemporary counterparts.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The T-Mobile Garminfone is a huge improvement over the Nuvifone G60, proving to be a capable smartphone just as much as it is a reliable navigator.

MobileCrunch‘s review Edit

The GarminFone is a handy and unique device, especially for people who are used to dedicated GPS units, but whether it’s worth the trade-off in smartphone features is a choice you’ll have to make. It succeeds well at what it tries to do, but it remains to be seen whether that’s enough.

MobileBurn‘s review Edit

The Garminfone is T-Mobile USA's version of the Garmin-ASUS A50 that was introduced at Mobile World Congress. It runs the Android 1.6 smartphone OS and offers all of the GPS-aware goodies that you'd find in a high-end Garmin car navigation system.

Garmin-Asus finally delivers the powerful GPS navigation-phone it should have released the first time, even if it isn't the world's best general-purpose smartphone.

This GPS-centric phone from Garmin-ASUS does a good job with navigation but lacks the power and features of similarly priced Android competitors.

SlashGear‘s review Edit

The A50 isn’t as impressive an all-round device as, say, the HTC Legend announced today, it’s a great example of Android being customized to address a pretty specific task.
