Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

You really do have to see the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini to believe that it is a viable size. Of course there are compromises dictated by the small screen, but apart from the obvious error of limiting the handset to Android 1.6, Sony Ericsson has done an excellent job with this phone.

As with the HTC Wildfire, the X10 mini is not going to be for most smartphone fanatics as its small and low resolution screen will simply feel too restricting. However, it's surprisingly usable and if size is your primary concern there's simply nothing out there that matches it.

GSMArena‘s review Edit

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini pro is certainly not a phone without flaws, but it’s hard to stay mad at it for long. And that’s not just because we have a soft spot for it. It’s mostly because the handset does what it’s supposed to – and does it well. No one promised you great movie watching, out-of-this-world imaging or a full office suite.

On paper, the X10 Mini looks like a bridge too far in the attempt to reduce the size of a touchscreen smartphone, but in the hand it proves to be a remarkably usable little device. The size and jewel-like looks will appeal to many, and my only reservations are the lack of a virtual Qwerty keyboard and the built-in battery.

HardwareZone‘s review Edit

Smartphones of today have taken on the mandate of having bigger screens, faster processors, and better industrial design. Sony Ericsson's Xperia X10 mini goes one step further by shrinking it all down into the compact form factor that is presented before us. Some might have second thoughts of getting a device with a 2.55-inch screen that's fully reliant on touchscreen technology. We were able to dismiss that misgiving from what we've seen of the interface. Designed with ease of use in mind by mostly relying on just thumb actions, and an intuitive virtual numeric keypad for your text input, the X10 mini turned out to be a very usable device.

Engadget‘s review Edit

The X10 Mini and Mini Pro turn out to be a couple of uniquely loveable Android phones. Despite the smaller screens, SE has done a pretty good job at optimizing the interface for the two phones, and we've had little frustration with them except for the few missing apps. As for which of the two to go after, we'd go for the Pro without hesitation - sure, it's a tad heavier, thicker and more expensive, but we'd kill for a QWERTY keyboard any day. So it's safe to say that if you're looking for a small and affordable smartphone, chances are you'd want to grab yourself either of these Minis.

Geeky Gadgets‘s review Edit

It definitely comes with a range of features that you possibly wouldn’t find in another mobile phone of this size, I am still surprised at how small it is compared to the original X10 and other smartphones, Sony Ericsson have done a pretty good job in packing a range of features, and applications into such a compact device.

The Xperia X10 Mini packs a lot of features into a small design. The compact touch-screen won't be for everyone, but it mostly satisfies as an Android

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

While the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini does not have any glaring faults, it isn't spectacular in any department. The small size brings a significant compromise in terms of lesser screen size and quirky handling for users who are accustomed to normal sized phones. However, the Xperia Mini X10 clearly caught the fancy of our female colleagues who were completely at ease while dealing with the tiny phone. And the phone despite its diminutive size offered good performance across the board. So, maybe, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini is a special offering by Sony Ercisson for the female population looking for a "size-zero" touchscreen phone that is powered by a very capable Android OS.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini is something of a surprise package. It is a tiny phone, but offering the Android operating system brings with it the convenience of a handset that can be easily customised. You don't get short-changed on the hardware front either: you still have your essential hardware covered.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

There aren't much, if any, smartphone alternatives to the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini currently on the market, although there are some diminutive featurephones. Thus you are all set to be unique and colorful as a proud owner of this puppy gadget and when its keyboarded version, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro, arrives in a month, it will be a welcome addition to the ever expanding X10 line.

When you're experimenting you want to make sure you minimize mistakes. Well, the first thing about the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini is it just can't be a big mistake. In fact, the only way for it to go wrong would be the price. The pint-sized package may be taken to imply half price. Let's be clear though: it may be a dwarf droid but it still is a full-featured smartphone.
