MSI is offering this video card for free for those purchasing a Fusion motherboard if you register and are among the first 100 purchasers of the combination. The 5770 card’s NVIDIA competition is not there as the cards competing with it are based upon older DirectX 10.0 technology, cost more to make, draw more power and only have PhysX and NVIDIA 3D Vision as its compelling features.

MSI's Radeon HD 5770 HAWK Edition is an innovative graphics card that's slightly undone by the cost of implementing 'military-class' extras. A very good card at £140, sure, but average value at the current etail price of £155.

In factory stock form, the PowerColor HD 5770 PCS+ edges ahead thanks to its slightly higher memory clock speeds and its lower operating temperatures. However, the MSI R5770 Hawk was able to negate those advantages thanks to its better overclocking abilities, which is in no small part thanks to the awesome bundled Afterburner software.

The HD 5770 in my books is already a great card. It's great for gamers who don't want to spend HD 5800 money but still want to do some serious gaming. To be honest, though, next to the HAWK version from MSI the stock one looks slow. The ability and ease of adjusting the voltage on the HD 5770 HAWK is fantastic.
