Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS Pro Reviews

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

Although it is near the bottom of Canon's range and is a bit limited in terms of style, features and performance, the IXUS 105 is a good medium-spec ultra-compact camera for a reasonable price. It may lack the sparkle of the more expensive models, but it more than makes up for it in overall image quality.

DigitalCameraReview‘s review Edit

For the past ten years, Canon's product development folks have been creating tiny feature-rich, high performance digital cameras that make taking photos a snap - no pun intended. The SD1300 IS is the latest addition to that distinguished product catalog. This little camera is an excellent choice for family photographers, casual photographers, and first time digital camera buyers who want a digicam that is small enough to be dropped in a pocket and taken along just about anywhere.

Steve's Digicams‘s review Edit

The PowerShot SD1300 IS Digital ELPH is a nice little ultra-compact with good performance, useful exposure modes Like Smart Auto, and decent image quality for a camera in its class. Our only gripes are increased noise, has trouble focusing in low light and no HD movie mode.

If all you need or want is to point and shoot, the Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS does that well.

Camera Labs‘s review Edit

Canon's earlier IXUS 95 IS / SD1200 IS was one of the best-selling compacts of 2009, a feat the company clearly wants to repeat with the 2010 version. As such it's not surprising to find the new IXUS 105 / SD1300 IS slightly increasing its resolution and screen size to keep up with marketing demands, although the larger screen has sadly come at the cost of its predecessor's optical viewfinder. These viewfinders may be small and slightly inaccurate, but they do let you squeeze a few more shots out of a failing battery, so it's a shame to see them all but banished in 2010.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

Fortunately then, this camera is as much about style as substance. Predictably the IXUS 105 is available in a quartet of colours: silver, pink, brown and turquoise ("aqua"). And if you feel that headline resolution still isn't high enough, then check out the 14-megapixel IXUS 130 released in tandem with this model.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

No argument: the Ixus 105 is a great camera. It's capable of taking excellent pictures, but its price at release - £190 - strikes us as a little high. For only around a tenner more you can have the Canon IXUS 120, which is nearly identically-specified but offers 720p video into the bargain.

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

The Canon Digital IXUS 105 doesn't look, feel or perform like a great departure from its pocket camera predecessors, which is fine, as Canon has hit on a winning formula with the range in terms of consistency of operation, small form factor and stylish design.
