ITreviews‘s review Edit

With the SX210 IS Canon has succeeded in extending the zoom range beyond others in its class whilst also providing a host of shooting options and 720p HD movies. It's a shame that the zoom control and flash make achieving good results uncomfortable.

DigitalCameraReview‘s review Edit

There are plenty of reasons to justify spending an extra $20 on the PowerShot SX210 over the SX200. If you're shooting in great conditions, you won't have a problem snapping clean shots at the top end of the camera's generous 14x zoom range. The camera boasts eye-catching style, and build quality is as good as anything in its class.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The Canon PowerShot SX210 is a no-nonsense camera that packs a long 14x optical-zoom lens into a small body. But this camera doesn't excel in low light, and images show some color fringing.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The Canon PowerShot SX210 IS is the rare camera that's sure to please a variety of users, making this pocket megazoom a solid recommendation for any camera shopper. It's a more-conservative buy than the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V, but it's still a fun camera with top-notch performance.

ephotozine‘s review Edit

First impressions of the PowerShot SX210 are good. Gone are the slight handling niggles of the SX200 – the SX210 feels like an accomplished all-rounder.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Canon PowerShot SX210 IS is one of the best compact cameras of the year so far. We can't find much to complain about this camera when it comes to image quality, and build quality. The spectacularly long focal length and ability to fit the SX210 IS in a pocket is also a massive plus. But it costs as much as a DSLR (by the time you cross the threshold of £300 for a compact camera you're edging into DSLR territory).

If you want a compact megazoom with manual controls and fine photo quality, the Canon PowerShot SX210 IS is a good place to start.

Camera Labs‘s review Edit

Canon's second-ever pocket super-zoom camera sports the longest zoom range and joint highest resolution of its peer group, along with a widescreen monitor, revamped body and an enhanced auto mode for foolproof shooting. The new SX210 IS also inherits the full manual control and 720p HD movies of its predecessor, and makes the latter more useful by unlocking the optical zoom while filming.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The Canon PowerShot SX210 is an expensive camera but it does offer more genuinely useful features than almost anything else in its class. Build quality and handling are excellent, overall performance is superb and the picture quality is better than expected for such a densely populated sensor. The only image quality issues are caused by the lens, which may just be a zoom factor too far.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

Overall the Canon PowerShot SX210 IS is a versatile camera offering the advantages of a wide zoom range in a compact body. The shooting options presented are equally wide ranging, from the Easy Mode which is ideal for children, through Smart Auto, right over to Manual control.

Steve's Digicams‘s review Edit

The Canon PowerShot SX210 is a stylish compact super-zoom with an impressive feature set. However, shooting performance leaves one wanting more. With good overall image quality, the SX210 is a competitive model in this category.

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

Viewed as a competent all-in-one option for both photos and video - and thus the only camera many families may ever need - what initially appears a premium price for the SX210 IS begins to make more sense. And, once you've become used to a camera with such a broad focal range that it's possible to frame up subjects near or far in pretty much an instant, it's a drag to go back to your common-or-garden 3x zoom snapper, the usual 'family friendly' tool of choice.
