Sony MHS-PM1 Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

Both the PM1 and Flip's UltraHD are available for £140 including VAT, and both are impressive devices for the money. The PM1 is a far better suited to those who want to video themselves. It's also marginally better if picture quality is key, though you won't see that extra detail once you've uploaded the results to YouTube, and it suffers badly in poor lighting conditions.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The versatile Sony Webbie HD MHS-PM1 camcorder is a good looker and provides plenty of control over your footage. It stands head and shoulders above the rest of the competition here.

PC Pro‘s review Edit

Neat design is marred by mediocre quality and annoying foibles. It doesn’t take the crown from the Flip Mino HD

Not just a me-too device, Sony’s first affordable pocket camcorder boasts an innovative swivel lens and shoots 1080i video.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The MHS-PM1 Webbie HD represents a step forward for Sony in the minicamcorder arena--but some quirks and only OK video quality prevent it from being compelling enough to best the competition.

Camcorderinfo‘s review Edit

As far as ultra-compact budget camcorders go, the MHS-PM1 ($169.99 MSRP) has a few big features that help set it apart from the rest of the crowd. Its rotatable lens design is an excellent innovation, as it allows for easy access to self-shooting and helps you get shots at tough angles. The variety of size options and scene modes available on the camcorder are also fairly unique in the ultra-compact market.

PC World‘s review Edit

The flashy, well-priced Sony Webbie HD MHS-PM1 doesn't deliver outstanding video quality, but it does offer great features and versatility for a high-def pocket camcorder.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

Users are more likely to get a naturalistic performance from their subjects (particularly the smaller members of the family) if approaching them with a camcorder with a diminutive form factor such as this - arguably less intimidating than a "proper" sized device, though the bright orange finish of our review sample may cause a few migraines.
