T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide Pro Reviews

phonedog‘s review Edit

The HTC myTouch 3G Slide is a nice Android device that's worthy of consideration by first time smartphone buyers and/or those looking for a feature packed mid-range Android device. I imagine the physical keyboard and overall design will make current G1 owners happy, and the physical QWERTY keyboard should win over quite a few BlackBerry users. Overall picture quality was a bit mediocre and the hinge was a bit wobbly on my review unit, but neither issue was a dealbreaker. The HTC myTouch 3G Slide is available at T-Mobile retail stores for $179.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and two-year customer agreement.

Phone Scoop‘s review Edit

The myTouch 3G Slide is an interesting beast. It adds a physical QWERTY keyboard for those seeking additional hardware, but comes at the cost of extra weight and size. The keyboard is unfortunately only so-so, which means you really need to weigh the trade-offs here. Since Swype is on board, composing messages with the software keyboard is really not that bad of an experience.

Curious software design elements aside, it's pretty apparent in our time with the myTouch 3G Slide that this phone is simply the best Android device T-Mobile has directly offered to date - and, despite the fact that it's only got MSM7227 silicon and an HVGA display - it's among the best QWERTY Android sliders to date, too.

Macworld‘s review Edit

The MyTouch 3G Slide is a big improvement over the original MyTouch 3G and is one of the best Android phones available from T-Mobile. First-time smartphone owners will like its simple user interface, finger-friendly touchscreen and keyboard, and sub-$200 price.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

As a whole, we're somewhat bummed by the myTouch 3G Slide as it doesn't feel quite as compelling as other Android handsets packing a physical QWERTY. It's by far one of the bulkiest looking Android smartphones to date as it boasts a size that's almost similar to the G1 while packing on more weight than most handsets. Plus its design is rather uninspiring and the choice of materials doesn't leave one well assured about its durability over the course of two years.

MobileBurn‘s review Edit

The T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide, built by HTC, is the second member of the myTouch family, and the first to feature a full hardware QWERTY keyboard. It also gets a larger touchscreen display and HTC's Sense user interface extensions.

Other than a few tiny details, I’m quite pleased with the MyTouch. It’s an entry-level phone for messaging addicts and that’s just fine.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The T-Mobile myTouch 3G slide won't win anyone big geek points, but it's a great smartphone for messaging, Web browsing, and music.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Slide isn't the flashiest Android device on the block, but its midrange feature set and friendly user interface make it a good choice for first-time smartphone buyers.
