Canon PowerShot A490 Pro Reviews

DigitalCameraReview‘s review Edit

When some veteran shooters consider entry-level cameras, they may dismiss such imaging tools as cheaply made and targeted toward snap-shooters. That's stinking thinking because the cameras used by old time photographers were pretty basic, but that didn't keep shooters like Cartier-Bresson and Doisneau from capturing some of the iconic images that define the golden age of photography.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The Canon PowerShot A490 is a cheap camera for those on a tight budget who still want the prestigious brand name, but its overall build quality, performance and image quality don't really compare to Canon's more expensive models. There are much better cameras available for just £20 more.

Though its feature set is light, the Canon PowerShot A490 is a very good choice for anyone on a tight budget who still wants excellent photo quality.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

You don't always get the control that you want over them, and features such as a decent HD video mode are missing, but if you're looking for a camera for occasional use, and simply want reasonable results every time you press the shutter, this is a cast-iron bargain.
