Samsung NX10 Pro Reviews

www.whatdigitalcamera.com‘s review Edit

The NX10 offers great value and will open the mirrorless market up to a variety of users. Whether performance will outsmart the entry-level DSLR market (and, based on its design the NX10 appeals very much as a DSLR-replacement camera) is another matter altogether, one that only the consumers can answer. Apart from some image noise issues this is a generally solid Micro System Camera that, as and when more lenses arrive, will show yet more potential and sit well against stiff competition. It may not appeal to those looking for a truly compact system and the AF performance needs a bit of a kick before it can be top of its game, but overall this is good footing on the first steppingstone for Samsung.

An impressive first stab at a brand new camera system. Not quite as polished as Panasonic’s G-series, but not as expensive either.

If manufacturers of existing Micro Four Thirds cameras thought they had cornered the hybrid market, they'll now have to accept that there's a new player on the block with this new camera from Samsung that offers excellent value for money and superb quality images.

Small, mirrorless digital cameras with interchangeable lenses are on the upswing; Panasonic and Olympus have been joined by Samsung with the NX10 and Sony's entry into the competition has just been formally announced. You have to wonder how long it might be before Canon and Nikon join the club.

reghardware‘s review Edit

I was surprised by the outstanding build and image quality of the company's latest new-concept release. While Olympus and Panasonic might have set a market standard for mirrorless cameras with their Micro Four Thirds models, Samsung has hit the nail on the head by increasing the sensor size of its first interchangeable lens hybrid, leaving scope for some brilliant developments. Free from the knotty mirror return mechanism of a DSLR, yet with a decent-sized sensor and an attractive price, the NX10 is definitely a winner.

Macworld‘s review Edit

The Samsung NX10 is a solid camera to hold and shoot. Even though I prefer the LCD for composing images, it’s convenient to have the EVF in bright conditions when the LCD might be difficult to see. Both the NX10 body and 18-55mm zoom lens are nicely constructed and should serve well under normal use.

Samsung's first Micro-Four-Thirds competitor holds its own when it comes to speed and performance, but a proprietary lens system and limited compatible accessories detract from the overall package.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

In the NX10 Samsung has achieved something remarkable, a real alternative to a full-sized APS-C DSLR with all the features, performance and picture quality in a lightweight and compact package smaller than some super-zoom cameras. For a surprisingly low the price the NX10 is a great little camera, and a very serious competitor to the Micro Four Thirds systems.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

Samsung have obviously focused on many of the details with the NX10 and it is a slightly surprising result, especially as you can get this camera for less than £500. The menu system is accomplished, with very few layers to get through to find what you need. It doesn’t quite draw you into experimenting like some Micro Four Thirds models do, so some might say that it isn't quite as fun.

LetsGoDigital‘s review Edit

I have to honestly admit that I was skeptical about the Samsung NX10 when the camera was announced. The doubts all quickly disappeared during the test. The Samsung NX10 is a surprisingly good camera. The few drawbacks could not spoil the fun I had in photographing with it. For me the Samsung NX10 is a remarkable surprise, and I definitely recommend it!

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The Samsung NX10 left us with a very good overall first impression. It’s very easy to use, it has plenty of features (so you won’t have to fork out for more accessories straight away), and it takes clear and vibrant photos. We only noticed some slight issues with the colour balance when shooting in bright sunlight; a colour cast was sometimes introduced to our subject, despite shooting from the same angle. We’re keen to see how the Samsung NX10 handles high ISO speeds, but our tests up to ISO 400 barely show any ill effects of noise and discolouration when we view the pictures at their full size.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The Samsung NX10 is not a DSLR, or a Micro Four Thirds camera, or a compact - it's a 'hybrid'. The NX10 is well made and good value, with an excellent range of shooting options, quality Electronic Viewfinder and high-performance rear screen. It's also got enough advanced features to attract more experienced users. But it's such an SLR-a-like you're left wondering why you don't just buy a comparatively priced Japanese SLR, and benefit from the more competitive discounting deals and wider range of lenses and accessories.

Nearly as good as a DSLR but in a more compact package, and at a very tempting price too

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

While there are enough drawbacks to keep the Samsung NX10 from being a no-brainer choice among interchangeable-lens cameras, it's still a well-designed model that's fun to shoot with and capable of producing very nice photos.

DP Review‘s review Edit

It's hard not to be impressed by the NX10. It's the smallest interchangeable lens APS-C camera we've ever tested and, despite Samsung being a relative newcomer to the sector, it's generally very well done. The image quality isn't in any respect class-leading but neither is it significantly behind most of its peers.

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

The Samsung NX10 is an excellent first entry into the growing interchangeable lens compact camera market, offering intuitive handling, especially for beginners, great image quality and fantastic value for money. Only the proprietary and physically larger NX lenses detract from what is a very serious contender to the Micro Four Thirds cameras.
