Canon PowerShot A3100 IS Pro Reviews

DigitalCameraReview‘s review Edit

The Canon PowerShot A3100 IS is noticeably different in terms of both design and size from its predecessors and is obviously targeted to casual photographers rather than photography enthusiasts who bought earlier "A" series models. Factor in the new Lithium-ion power pack and the A3100 is actually closer to Canon's Digital Elph models than to earlier "A" series units. The A3100 IS is practically identical to its little brother, the A3000 IS, so bargain seekers can save about $20 by opting for the A3000 IS over the A3100 IS, without giving up much.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The Canon PowerShot A3100 may not have the creative versatility of its forebears, but it is a well-made and sensibly designed camera offering a useful specification at a reasonable price. Build quality, handling and performance are all up to Canon's usual standard, but unfortunately the camera is let down by inferior picture quality.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The Canon PowerShot A3100 IS is a very good simple point-and-shoot, even though it doesn't do much beyond that.

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

The Canon Powershot A3100 IS is a sensible choice as a first digital camera. There's nothing here to get too excited about, but the combination of ease-of-use, advanced features for beginners and solid image quality is a compelling one.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

If you're unbothered by the lack of HD video, the A3100 is a superb camera for the money. Spend around £30 more and you'll get a more impressive lens and HD video, but for most casual snappers the A3100 is all the camera you'll need.

Steve's Digicams‘s review Edit

Canon's PowerShot A3100 IS is an easy-to-use entry-level digicam that anyone can use. Packed full of features like a 12.1-Megapixel imaging sensor and a 4x optical zoom with optical image stabilization (IS), you will be very happy with the feature set and image quality from this camera.
