Canon Vixia HF M31 Pro Reviews

ITreviews‘s review Edit

Canon has updated its HF21 camcorder with the addition of a touchscreen and the resulting HF M31 is a decent piece of kit, but it is far from perfect. The touchscreen lacks sensitivity and the price seems at least £100 too high for a camcorder that is made from plastic. For that sort of money we want titanium and some really classy design.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Video quality is fine, although it drops off in low light conditions. The Canon LEGRIA HF M31 is more than twice the price of Samsung HMX-H200 or Toshiba Camileo SX900, but not twice as good.

Camcorderinfo‘s review Edit

If you're familiar with last year's HF20 from Canon, then you shouldn't have any problem recognizing most of the features and controls on the Canon HF M31. The two camcorders have the same lens and image sensors, which means their video performance was nearly identical in most of our tests. Canon did make some changes in color rendering and probably tweaked the processing a bit, however, so there were some notable differences in a few categories.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

Despite its slight low light shortcomings, the Canon Legria HF M31 is a tempting proposition. The new touchscreen interface is mostly well executed, it’s compact, and comes with a healthy assortment of enthusiast features. Unfortunately, however, the problem with Canon’s previous generation of mid-range camcorders remains – it’s a little too expensive.
