Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT Pro Reviews

Camera Labs‘s review Edit

Canon kick-started the budget digital SLR market with the EOS-300D / Digital Rebel, but rather than rest on its laurels with the 350D / Rebel XT, it's raised the bar. Indeed it's indicative that despite being the oldest of the current crop of budget digital SLRs, it arguably remains the best.

The Imaging Resource‘s review Edit

The original Canon EOS Digital Rebel made waves in the digital SLR marketplace, offering professional-level features and control at a very low price. Now, the new Canon Digital Rebel XT brings dramatic improvements across the board, with better resolution and speed, and myriad improvements in camera operation and user control. In almost every parameter, the Canon Rebel XT offers significant enhancements beyond the original model, while maintaining the same (original) list price.

The-Digital-Picture‘s review Edit

I think the Canon EOS Rebel XT / 350D is an excellent value. It will be the right camera for many people. And it may be the camera to meet Canon's high Digital SLR sales projection.

If you purchase the Canon EOS 350D you will be the proud owner of a top product. A camera to enjoy to the fullest. The camera is easy to carry around, works incredibly speedy and produces marvellous images. And all of this for less money than its predecessor. The real fun starts from now on!

Steve's Digicams‘s review Edit

The 6-megapixel Canon EOS Digital Rebel came on the scene in late 2003 and instantly established a new category of "affordable digital SLR cameras" with a price of under $1000, including a zoom lens. It rapidly became the best-selling digital SLR of all time and as with all things digital, Canon has just updated it.

DP Review‘s review Edit

On 20th August 2003 Canon dropped a bomb into the digital SLR market with the six megapixel sub-$1,000 EOS 300D (Digital Rebel). Eighteen months later and just in time for the largest trade show of the year (PMA 2005) Canon has revealed the successor to the 300D, the new, smaller, eight megapixel, EOS 350D (Digital Rebel XT). At first you'd be forgiven for thinking this was just a drop-in upgrade of the EOS 300D with the EOS 20D's eight megapixel sensor, but in actual fact it has a new CMOS sensor (it's 8.0 megapixels versus the 20D's 8.2 megapixels), the 350D also has a smaller body, re-worked design, DIGIC II, new features and custom functions.
