LG Optimus Pro Reviews

www.computeractive.co.uk‘s review Edit

This Android smartphone costs just £100 and LG has proved that you can make a useable and inexpensive smartphone. If your wallet is stretched but you want a smartphone, it's not a bad choice.

reghardware‘s review Edit

The LG Optimus is a good-looking, reasonably capable lower end smartphone with some handy features. Yet it's severely let down by that insensitive resistive screen, which can be extremely irritating to use once you've got used to the capacitive variety. It's certainly not a bad handset, but that screen stops it being distinctive enough to recommend.

Although it's good value, the sleek Optimus has an out-of-date version of Android, and LG hasn't done much to improve on the basic interface

T he LG Optimus Android is a beginner level Android smartphone that lets you do many things. LG has included a list of top-10 applications so that you can get started immediately. With Wi-Fi and 3G internet, all connections are possible. The Internet is easy to access, although we are missing support for Flash. However you do have a very complete smartphone with the Android operating system for a very attractive price.

ITreviews‘s review Edit

The LG Optimus GT540 has several features which belie its budgets status. The build is good, and you can use a skinned version of Android. The resistive screen is an obvious budget move, though, and Android 1.6 means you don't get access to the latest Android operating system features.

Softpedia‘s review Edit

LG GT540 Optimus can be easily advertised as “a smartphone for everyone”. Besides its good looking design and ergonomic layout, GT540 is a complete Android device, which offers all the standard features that a person would want from its mobile phone. It doesn't matter if you're a techie or a non-smartphone user, as GT540 can meet most of your demands. Of course, there are other expensive alternative, much better than this one, but if you're looking for an entry-level Android smartphone, GT540 Optimus can be a good start.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

Although it is let down by its resistive touchscreen and the somewhat dated Android 1.6 OS, the LG Optimus T540 is still a good choice for first-time smartphone users, thanks to its slick design, multimedia support and large screen.

HardwareZone‘s review Edit

As we mentioned, the LG Optimus GT540 aims to attract both the budget and fashion conscious group. With its S$418 price tag and an appealing exterior to go with it, we have to say it managed to fulfill its primary goal. The one and only deal breaker, and perhaps the most pertinent issue that holds us back, is the lack of responsiveness on its resistive touch screen.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

There is no doubting that the LG Optimus GT540 is attractive in pricing terms, and LG has done a good job of making it look attractive both physically and in terms of its own Android skin. The resistive touchscreen lacks responsiveness, though, and the screen itself is a bit too small for media rich activity like Web browsing. We'd have liked to see a higher resolution for video capture too.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

LG certainly has some of the ingredients right with the Optimus. It looks stylish, has good performance and a decent range of features. However, the company has dropped the ball by using a resistive touchscreen and lumping the phone with the older V1.6 release of Android. It's also worth adding that the HTC Wildfire can be had for around £50 more and that handset beats the Optimus GT540 hands down thanks to its capacitive display and newer V2.1 version of Android.

GSMArena‘s review Edit

So, we’re talking the makers of Black Label handsets and some pretty good cameraphones. And well, it’s only their second attempt at Android. No wonder then, they’re not too keen to make a big noise about it. On a second thought though, it’s really the Android way. The quiet multitaskers will just do their job and offer consumer-friendly smartphone experience. Quite often it would be first-time smartphone users too.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The LG Optimus GT540 is a fully featured Google Android smartphone hindered by a resistive touchscreen. It represents decent value at this price, provided you can live with its flaws.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

We can't really compare the LG Optimus GT540 to higher-tier smartphones like the Desire or Nexus One, because it isn't meant to be stacked up against those beasts. However, the Optimus is a pretty decent mid-range Android handset, which, if priced correctly, can prove to be the best in its class.
