Dell Inspiron Mini 1010 Pro Reviews

Fudzilla‘s review Edit

Dell did pretty well this time around. The Mini 10 is a very good looking machine, and it's got quite a few things going for it. Basically, all it needs is a 6-cell battery and some glue for the Space key. Other than that, it's a nice piece of kit. If you're looking for a netbook with a big keyboard and some extra trackpad acreage, it's a good choice, and you'll also get good looks and HDMI.

expertreviews‘s review Edit

We had high hopes that the Mini 10 would be an improvement over previous Dell netbooks, but were quickly left wanting more. Although we were impressed with its large, comfortable keyboard and rugged build, its performance lets it down.

ITreviews‘s review Edit

Although the Mini 10 is an improvement on the Mini 9 and, for that matter, the Mini 12, Dell is still playing catch-up with the major players in this market, and it's hard to recommend this machine when you compare it with the other 10-inch netbooks available such as Samsung's NC10 and N110 and Asus's 1000HE.

Notebookcheck‘s review Edit

The new Dell Inspiron Mini 1018 is appealing in many ways but prospective buyers should also take notice of several disadvantages. The case and sturdy build of the Mini 1012 are familiar, whose quality and unique design can be quite attractive. The amount of ports was sadly reduced: the third USB port and the microphone input were removed.

reghardware‘s review Edit

Minor exterior changes and new Atom chips aside, the 2010 Mini 10 is hard to get too excited about. Gone is the sub-£200 option, gone is the choice of Linux or a robust solid-state drive. In return, the price has gone up and you get nothing more than an improved battery life and better battery pack fit. You don't even get Bluetooth as standard. On the plus side, the new 10 is a well made and not unattractive machine that does still – just, and on the right day – have value for money on its side.

Engadget‘s review Edit

The Dell Mini 10 turns out to be a middle of the road player. When it comes to thinness, ergonomics and even overall performance, it isn't as compelling as the Toshiba Mini NB305, and though its battery life is solid, it doesn't compare to the Eee PC 1005PE. But what if you're looking for a netbook that can handle HD content? Well, it's still not a perfect solution, considering the Broadcom Crystal HD accelerator only plays back content in Windows Media Player and requires you to make various tweaks to allow for Flash support.

Register Hardware‘s review Edit

Dell delivers a rather lazy warming over of its netbook range, so while the processor is new and battery life excellent, everything else, like the song, remains the same.

LAPTOP Magazine‘s review Edit

This version of Dell’s netbook offers improved video playback and an HD screen with relatively few compromises.
