Kickstarter API Bug Reveals Unlaunched Projects

Crowd-sourced funding website Kickstarter revealed Sunday that a bug involving its private API allowed data from unlaunched projects to be accessible from that API.
Kickstarter engineers discovered the bug on Friday, co-founder Yancey Strickler (left) said in a blog post. "This bug allowed some data from unlaunched projects to be made accessible via the API," he wrote. "It was immediately fixed upon discovering the error. No account or financial data of any kind was made accessible."
The glitch occurred when Kickstarter launched its API in conjunction with its new homepage on April 24 and was live until May 11. »read more
