Torrent search engine BTJunkie closes its doors

BitTorrent search engine BTJunkie voluntarily shuttered its service today, leaving behind only a holding page with the dates 2005-2012 and a message for its users:
"This is the end of the line my friends. The decision does not come easy, but we've decided to voluntarily shut down. We've been fighting for years for your right to communicate, but it's time to move on. It's been an experience of a lifetime, we wish you all the best!"
In an interview with TorrentFreak, the site's founder explained that the legal action being faced by fellow file sharing sites like The Pirate Bay and Megaupload was a factor in its decision to close, though clarified that BTJunkie had never faced similar threats. ... »read more
