TVs that receive the Energy Star certification are guaranteed to help the consumer save money with their electronic bill. Today the Energy Star announced that they have revamped their Energy star 5.3 certification. The down side to this revamp is that many TVs that used to qualify no longer do. The revamp states that the TVs now have to be at least 40% more efficient than standard models. Also, larger models will receive stricter requirements.
