Better late than never, Facebook. The social network has finally added a security layer that scans links posted by your friends, and warns you if the link contains undesirables like viruses, trojans, phishing attempts, even illegal porn.
It's a long overdue layer of protection for a Web service that boasts more than 750 million users; in recent months we've seen a number of viruses that were spread through links embedded onto people's Facebook profiles: the "death" of Lady Gaga, the fake "See Who Has Viewed Your Profile" application, and fake announcements sent from the Facebook Team .
