Skype has let eight of its top executives go just in time for the Microsoft buyout of the VoIP company to close.
Bloomberg claims that Skype's decision to let the executives go before Microsoft purchases the company is a tactic that will reduce the value of their stock options, which are likely to go up once the Microsoft buyout closes. The executives let go include some from Qik that joined the company when Skype purchased Qik earlier this year.
The FTC recently approved Microsoft's $8.5 billion purchase of Skype, which is likely to be completed shortly. »read more
