LG has announced the worldwide roll out of its Remote Call services, which provide smartphone users with remote maintenance and software upgrades. The service was initially launched in LG's home market of Korea.
The Remote Call services allows LG to diagnose software issues in the phone without forcing the user to visit a support center. LG's technicians can connect to the phone through cellular or Wi-Fi internet connections. LG says that the Remote Call app cannot access any personal information, such as messages, contacts, and call logs, on the device.
