Samsung's entry into the already-crowded group messaging market, ChatON, was revealed earlier today, and now the company has made it official. ChatON will allow users to communicate with each other using text messages, group chats, and image and video sharing. It works across platforms, so users of Samsung's bada platform can communicate with those on Android, iOS, or BlackBerry - and vice-versa.
Samsung is also releasing a feature-phone version of ChatON that will let users of simpler phones get in on the fun, too, though with limited functionality compared to the smartphone versions. A web-based ChatON client is also in the works, so users can participate in chats from their PCs. »read more
