It was announced last week that Sony would be discontinuing development of OLED HDTVs and monitors. Apparently those statements are false as Sony announced that they are still working on OLED-TVs alongside of their new Crystal LED TV that was also announced at CES. The Crystal LED technology uses thousands of tiny LED lights to replace pixels from an LCD screen. By controlling the LED lights, the TV is able to give a better color quality and impressive black levels. The OLED TVs have indeed been discontinued, but it was announced that Sony plans to continue research, development, and produce OLED TV panels.
