Last month, Sony introduced the NEX-5N, an update to its 16-megapixel NEX-5 digital camera with interchangeable lenses. One of its benchmark features was its 1080p60 recording capabilities. Unfortunately, there is evidently a problem with Sony's implementation, and the camera makes a clicking noise that disturbs the audio while recording videos.
The sound is apparently emanating from the body of the camera itself. Sony has acknowledged the problem, but has no comment on when a fix might be available. An external microphone can mitigate or eliminate the problem entirely but can still pick up the sound depending on how close the microphone is to the camera body.
