Sony Insurer Claims It Shouldn't Have to Pay Off After Hack

An insurer for Sony says that it shouldn't have to pay off legal claims for the Sony PlayStation Network earlier this year.
Zurich American Insurance told a New York state court that it did not feel that it should be held responsible for compensating Sony for a attack on Sony's network that forced the game-console provider to take down the PlayStation Network for weeks. Subsequent hacks also attacked Sony sites in Japan and Europe.
Zurich American's documents allege that it should be liable for claims "asserted in the class-action lawsuits, miscellaneous claims, or potential future actions instituted by any state attorney general," according to Reuters, which first reported the story.
