The biggest problem with OLED HDTVs is that they rather expensive for their screen sizes. Fortunately though, that is starting to change. Today it was unveiled that the OLED screens available in the UK are not starting to plummet in price. The only two available models are the LG 15EL9500 and the Sony XEL-1. The 15EL9500 dropped 50% in price and features a 15 inch screen, WXGA (1366 x 768) resolution, and a 10000000:1 contrast ratio. The XEL-1 is an 11 inch screen and comes with a 1000000:1 contrast ratio and a native 960 x 540 resolution. The reduction in price is to help clear stock in order to make room for the upcoming OLED models that are expected to come next year. »read more
