A new Android-powered handset has been spotted in the form of LG’s Optimus Pro which is a slab style device that packs a QWERTY keyboard below the screen.
The Optimus Pro runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Given the form factor of this smartphone, screen size had to be sacrificed as evidenced by the 2.8-inch QVGA display. The Optimus Pro also packs a 3 megapixel camera on the back.
The Optimus Pro is more than likely an attempt to lure BlackBerry customers to Android much like the similarly built Motorola Droid Pro did. There isn’t any other specs on this device yet and we don’t know about planned availability, although this phone is apparently on sale in Italy already. »read more
