Palicomp Opera AMD CORE6 Media Centre Questions & Answers

Looking for HTPC advice

Posted by beatz2235 on Sep 07, 2011

Hi, looking for htpc to store and play my media, 'cause i really need to get it out of the notebook. I'm particularly interested in the ones with receiver-look like Palicomp Opera Media Centre, but haven't heard the company before, nor used any of it's products. It should have 1TB or over storage and optical drive. Any advice?

I will suggest you some HTPCs from ASUS - their DAV Center series, check them out :)

Well If you're all about the look, which will only restrict your choice, you have two options: a.) stick with whatever's available pre-configured and b.) look for the case and build up your own config. A case that fits would be something like that - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811204035, and you should be looking at components small enough to fit inside.

However, If you change your mind on the form factor, there are quite a few alternatives, like Dell Inspiron Zino HD or some of teh Acer Revo PCs which are not bad at all.

Why don`t you try something like

I think it will fit your needs more :) the HDD is not included but you can get a 1TB HDD for about 80$

The functionality of the device is very close to the one of the HTPC but in my opinion is much better for media storage and usage(it has a lot of web services as well :) )
