I started out with Canon film cameras. When I decided to go digital, I examined Canon and Nikon. The salesperson showed me features of both Canon and Nikon that fell within my budget and I went with Nikon. It was a good fit for me personally. i have taken some marvelous shots with my D70s. As I started looking to upgrade, the D300s is the most perfect step up. It brings so much more than my D70s without the hefty $5000 price tag for the D3x. (Or $3000 for the D700.) I have had a opportunity to use this beast and it was amazing!

I have the earlier model d300, and it's been one of my fav's. I have only owned Nikon and always will. I've had the d70,d80 and now the d300. It is thee best camera for the price. Way to go nikon
