Sony has confirmed that it still intends to offer a full-frame camera in its Alpha cameras. The company tipped its hand to the BJP at a recent news conference in Athens when it unveiled the crop-frame, translucent mirror Alpha A65 and A77. The company declined to provide any further details.
Sony currently uses cropped, APS-C sensors in all its Alpha series cameras. A full-frame camera would incorporate a sensor that captured images in the same approximate size format as a 35mm film camera. They usually allow more light and provide the true zoom range of a lens instead of skewing it, as with the smaller sensors on most other cameras. »read more
