Playstation Move, knockoff or secret weapon?

The Move controller system is going to have a hard time fitting into the motion control world when it drops.
however it will have a significant advantage, that being a technology that allows it to be MUCH more precise than natal or the wiimote.
do you think this will just be a failed experiment by Sony? will hackers immediately put this thing to use as a computer interface (dethroning the Wiimote?)
or will this actually galvanize a competition between" hardcore" and "casual" movement controlled games?
