Apple has reportedly purchased Redmatica, an Italian startup that specializes in digital music editing apps, according to Fanpage. The Italian blog cites a weekly bulletin from Italy’s antitrust regulatory agency, AGCM, who has approved the purchase. Redmatica is the creator of four Mac-specific music editing applications, including Keymap Pro, AutoSampler, ProManager, and GBSampler Manager. The company’s revenue last year was less than €100,000, with an income of €26,000, meaning an Apple buyout would not be costly. The Cupertino-based company is likely interested in an “acqui-hire” and looking to integrate Redmatica’s employees into Apple’s own Logic Pro and Garageband teams. »read more
